Edible DNA

Teaching DNA?
Your students will LOVE making DNA models out of candy!

All you need:
*colored marshmallows (i recommend letting them sit out and get stale for a few hours!!)
*twizzlers
*tooth picks
*towel or plates for the desks
*rubric (coming soon!)

Final Product:

This can be extended by "unzipping" and replicating the DNA...

I love this! I do something very similar with elements from the periodic table called "Edible Elements." I use jumbo marshmallows as my nucleus, twizzlers as my electron rings to make them visible, and toothpicks to attach everything.
